Vietnamese Veterans of war

Vietnamese war veterans receive aid from MQI in the form of Compassion Houses. Typical of veterans in many countries, they were recruited as young men and after the war they were deemed no longer useful and ignored.

The following story is of one such man:
Mr. Tri is a relatively young man, although he fought in three wars; the last of the American War in Vietnam, the Three Week War with the Chinese in the late ‘70s, and participated for years in the war in Cambodia. After nine years of fighting, however, he became homesick for his home village and quit the military. Because he did not serve a full twenty years in the military, he receives no benefits and now lives in an impoverished state with his wife and daughter. His daughter is mentally and physically disabled from the effects of Agent Orange. MQI provided a Compassion House for this family in 2011.
